Our Story

Awake The Sky is a musical conglomerate of some of the top musicians and musical artists from the Los Angeles area and beyond. The combined credits of the band members include:

Glenn Frey, Vertical Horizon, Foo Fighters, Beth Hart, Walter Trout, Joe Walsh, Gwen Stefani, Avril Lavigne, Christopher Cross, Carlene Carter, Annie Lennox, Five for Fighting, Don Felder, Joe Cocker, Black Eyed Peas, Kamasi Washington, and many more.

Each member brings a wealth of experience and musical ability second to none, and as a result the band is always striving to achieve higher musical heights while giving their audiences an unforgettable show.

*In the event a core member is “on the road” with a national touring act, we have an impressive network of pro musicians ready to step in at a moment’s notice to ensure a top notch show, many of whom can be seen with the band at any given date we’re playing.

Wade Biery – bass/vocals

As an often-touring bassist and vocalist, Wade has and has had the pleasure to perform with many excellent performers in the music business ranging from Glenn Frey and Joe Walsh to Carlene Carter, Leanne Rimes, Joe Cocker, Roger Daltrey, The Turtles, Don Felder, Latin-Rock superstar Miguel Mateos, Christopher Cross, Dillon O’Brian, and many more, traveling the globe in the process.

Wade has his own original music project, “STILL” starting with his debut CD “The Distance”. Wade wrote and produced “The Distance”, playing most of the instruments on the CD and performing all the vocals. After the release of “The Distance”, Wade returned to the studio to record his 2nd CD “I don’t mind”, taking on the same duties as he did with the making of “The Distance”. Top Los Angeles-based studio and touring musicians contributed their skills as well, bringing an extra depth to the songs.

Steve Fekete – guitar/vocals

Steve Fekete is an LA-based guitarist and vocalist, currently playing for America – The Band. Other artists Steve has worked with include Gwen Stefani, Avril Lavigne, Cassadee Pope, Vertical Horizon, Five for Fighting, Marc Broussard, Julianne Hough, David Archuleta & Rita Wilson. He was also a house band member for the Bonnie Hunt Show on NBC.

An experienced private instructor, Steve has conducted clinics and master classes at Berklee College of Music, Los Angeles Music Academy & Fort Hamilton High School in NY. He has performed in over 40 countries and entertained U.S. troops worldwide.

Rachel Grace – violin/vocals

Born and raised in Amsterdam (NL), Rachel Grace studied classical violin at the Royal Conservatory of the Netherlands. Her improvisational skills soon took her all over the world and landed her in Los Angeles (USA). Here Rachel established a flourishing career playing both acoustic and electric violin, featured with major artists like Britney Spears, Black Eyed Peas, Annie Lennox, Foo Fighters, Will.I.Am and many more.

Rachel is known for her explosive performances and virtuoso energy on stage.
She recently recorded her first official single, “Make You Love Me”, mixed by all star engineer Dave Pensado (Michael Jackson, Pink, Mariah Carey) at Capitol Records in Hollywood – which is soon to be released.

A world class musician playing with world class act! Steve has been lucky enough to not only go around the world several times using his talent but also recording with a variety of outstanding artists!
Also a songwriter who has had music in film/tv genres, he continues to thrive in the industry he has called his home.

Todd Wolf – Drums

Born and raised in Chicago, Todd started playing drums at the age of 3 and has not stopped since. Todd began playing professionally when he was 18 years old. While studying drums and percussion at DePaul University, it didn’t take long before Todd was playing 6 nights a week in down town Chicago’s finest jazz and blues clubs. By the age of 23, Todd had built a reputation for himself as being a very musical and versatile drummer, and he was approached to do his first over seas tour, in Japan with grammy award winning Harmonica player Sugar Blue, formerly of the Rolling Stones. After returning home for only a few months, Todd went back on tour with Sugar Blue for an extensive tour covering Brazil and Europe. While back home from touring, through recommendations, Todd began to play drums for the top jingle houses in Chicago. Todd has played for major brands and national campaigns such as, Bud light, Taco Bell, All-State, Betty Crocker, Chiquita Bananas, Clorox Bleach, McDonalds, and many more.

In 2001, Todd relocated to Los Angeles. With in weeks, Todd was playing LA Jazz clubs with the actual players that influenced him growing up. Rock gigs soon followed. Todd was called for another European tour with Grammy Nominated artist Beth Hart. After 3 months on tour with the band he was asked to become a full time member, and spent 2006 to 2013 touring Europe with Beth Hart.
